Going to bed Friday was great, knowing I had a genuine chance at my first race win this weekend considering my monster pace during Friday testing, but as the track gripped over the Saturday my Friday work became redundant and we struggled to match the fastest guys. As the race progressed my pace picked up and it looked as though I had the pace to take fourth but whilst battling with Barnabe I speared off the track into the wall... woops :/
Sunday my pace picked up as we found some of our lost time, and I was on the pace of the leaders - unfortunately I got mugged at the start and lost a couple of places, letting Barnabe passed me on the first lap, where I would remain for the next 20, trying every possible move - the inside and outside of every single corner. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't been such a pussy about tapping him, because I had the pace for at least fourth again but instead came home in eighth, which considering my pace, was a disaster.
